Description

I spotted these guys a mile away as I drove up the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay on Rt. 301. I was blessed to not only have my camera but also my 300 mm lens with me. No safe place to pull over really so I made some very quick hand held shots out my driver’s side window. I occasionally see them flying around in the distance, but this was a first for me.

Exif: F Number: 7.1, Exposure Bias Value: 0.33, ExposureTime: 1/160 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 300.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 40D

How exciting for you! I like this image--how the eagles blend in with the foliage and mimick its colors. The placement of the birds is also very good. #1044985

Hi Anita! I wasn’t sure whether to even post this shot. This is a far cry from a National Geographic photograph. I was however very excited to see and capture these majestic birds in their natural habitat and not in a zoo. Thank you very much for taking the time to comment! #6840412

What a great shot - you must have an "eagle" eye to have spotted them. I love the detail, you can almost count all of the feathers. Thanks for sharing it with all of us! #6881395
