Protacio-I really like the lighting in this photo. The fighter looks to me like he's not looking forward to the last round. I like the way you didn't show the audience. #1570913

Thanks Mike.

There was something I liked about this image, but after reading your post I finally understood. He looks uncertaing, hesitating. Thanks for pointing that out.

The light above the ring invited to try a "portrait". It was a few milimeters from being a Rembrant light, but I like how it looks when only one side of the face is lit. Nowadays is widely used in advertising and even on TV series.

Have you seen "Jack and Bobby" lately?
Pay attention to all the scenes where Jack is involved. He always get this kind of light...no matter where he is.

About the audience, it was quite easy because of the dim light on the arena...and the scarce audience ;) #1573108

Not sure who Jack and Bobby are. Are you referring to the Kennedy brothers or a TV show? We watch RFD-TV horse programming most of the time and not regular TV. I do recall still images of Jack Kennedy lighted this way. Too bad more of that type is not seen nowadays. #1573358

yep...there's a TV show named that way.

I watch TV series to get ideas about lighting among other things. Many times I forget about the story because I'm figuring out how they did to get a particular scene.

Never heard of RFD-TV before. I just saw their website and it looks interesting.

Hey! I like this one. But to me he doesn't look uncertain ... to me he seems to have that classic teen-boy look ... the one that says: i'm unhappy! and one of two things are going to happen! Someone's gonna pay or someone's gonna pay ;)

as important as the lighting is ... I think the black space you left on the right is equally important ... mmm ... there it is again ... tension building.

watching ya'll talk though is much more amusing ;)

have fun!
