Thanks so much to you both! It was quite an interesting experience. For quite some time had I been wanting to shoot Haystack Rock at sunset and I made it out at the perfect time. It was amazing to see how quickly the light and the colors changed from minute to minute. I was drenched, the tide came in and the waves flooded the area in which I was standing quite a few time. Needless to say, the ocean water, despite 55 degrees day time temps, was quite a bit colder than that and the wind didn't help much either, on top of that, when the water came rushing in I had to let my hands hover of the tripod and camera just in case the water would flush the sand out and tip my tripod. Kind of scary, but so worth it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat :) #6663674

Dagmar, Thanks for the info behind the shot, it was very interesting I also shoot plenty of beach sunsets ect but I have never thought about venturing into the water, and yes the light does change so fast.

LOL Dave, not sure if it was the smartest thing to do though, I was soaking wet and brrrr cold, had no change of clothes/shoes and froze my butt off on the 2 hour drive home.
If you do decide to venture in to the water be sure to bring a solid platform for your tripod. It'll secure your tripod better than the sand while it's being washed out ;) #6679182
