The Drum Major

Uploaded: January 23, 2003

Description

This soldier in this portrait is a good friend with whom I served in the 389th Army Band at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. The lighting for this shot was simple, two strobes in white umbrellas and a light on the background. I remember that I did "cheat" a little and used some dulling spray on the ball-end of the mace to kill some of the nasty glare. Nikon F, Vivitar 70-210 Series 1 @100mm, Kodak Ektachrome 64.

A superior portrait, Bob! Very nice work and professional results! I suspect he's very happy with this photo! #20048
