Let There Be Light

Uploaded: October 25, 2008

Description

Spire and window of Strasbourg Cathedral in the Alsace region of France. The pointed arches, divided circles, and repetition of form are beautiful examples of the Gothic architectural style, which predominated in the high and late Middle Ages. The mysteriously beautiful quality of the jewel-toned light that stained glass windows like this admitted was considered a wonder at the time – and remains so today.
