What a delightful image this is Margy! Beautifully shot and love the sepia- it gives it a timeless quality. Ideally it should perhaps have a little less blank wall on the right; it might be interesting to try some cropping on that side-what do you think?
The expressions on their faces are priceless! Oh boy have I been there! It takes me back nearly sixty years when I was ten and fell in love with Kathy, a 2nd cousin who was visiting. She was sventeen and one rainy afternoon invited me to sit on the piano stool beside her and played and sang what was a very popular tune in the '40s.
"I'll be your sweetheart if you will be mine
All my life I'll be your Valentine.
Bluebells I've gathered, keep them and be true.
When I'm a man, my plan will be to marry you."
After she and her family returned home to the other end of the country I never saw her again and thus ended one of the angst filled loves of my life! lol
Thanks for the memory Angie!

thank you everyone for the kinds comment. My son has been in love with his cousin the last summer, but she lives far from here, more than 1000 Km, so he's waiting for the next summer, when he will be 8 years, so (he thinks) he will "a boy" for his woderful girl.
Expecially thank you Peter, for the romantic words and for your suggestion. I don't know very well Photoshop, so I can try, I hope to make the right of wall less blank. How can I do? I've a filter that can make "Vignette": can I use that? #6541768

Good morning Margy.
Having made the suggestion to you about cropping, I am now not sure! I like both versions! You did a good job of the revised version and the vignetting is subtle enough to focus ones attention on the subjects without being obtrusive but this version is now more of a semi-formal portrait whereas your original has more the look of a candid shot which tells a story.(It told mine!!) You ask whether you should use vignetting but isn't that something you already have on your original so I would not suggest making it any darker.
The wall has plenty of texture and light and shade already so doesn't need anything further added. I guess if I were playing around with this image I would perhaps still crop the original but not as much as you have on the revised version as this divides the image into two equal halves which isn't the best composition. Maybe try half as much crop and see how that looks and if it isn't an improvement just go back to your original as it is delightful.

This is such a great image :)
2 years later, I wonder if your son's heart was satisfied. How cute! And wonderful lighting in this. #9338579
