Great photo. All of the pics on POTD are wonderful but I am always left with the question "How do they do that". For us newbies to photography it would be great if the presenter could divulge "trade secrets" such as type of lens, aperture settings, processes used in photoshop, etc. so that others could try to recreate the look and feel of what the experts have done. #1121769

Wow what a great surprise to wake up to. I want to say thanks to the judges
for choosing this image as POTD. But what really makes this the best is
all the great supportive and generous comments from so many of you at BP.
This is truly a wonderful site to belong to!! My heartfelt thanks to each
and everyone of you!

Just to make it clear - this is NOT a panned shot. It was entered
in digital darkroom. I was unable to pan at this event due to crowds so
took this shot of this sled at the start line when the gun went off.
A motion blur was added to demonstrate the speed I whitnessed first hand
but couldn't capture due to lack of space and a clear line of sight:-) #1121893
