Description

Image taken on Thursaday during our snow storm. I think the horses thought I had food so they came out of their shelter to check it out. They quickly saw it was my camera and the made a b-line for their hay bale (LOL)!! They seem to actually prefer being out in the weather as opposed to in the shelter, especially my horse.

Made some adjustments to color and levels and then added a slight touch of the dreamy effect.

I rarely comment on photos that have this much feedback already, but this one brings back some fond memories for me. I had film images of my horses when I lived in New Mexico during blizzards. Only difference was they were dark and the snow had melted off their bodies and stuck unmelted to their manes; creating a frosted effect! But, those were predigital days! This one, as you've adjusted it, expresses the hour so well! The horses have their coat and their fat to resist the cold, they seem to almost enjoy a snow blanket, but the wind makes them turn tail! I recently worked with some rain shots and know that getting the snow to look just as it does must be tricky. Excellent job! #3094061
