One Night Stand

Uploaded: August 24, 2008

Description

Organ Pipe Cacti flower only at night. This magnificent bloom will only stay open for a few hours. The intense Arizona sunshine will completely wither this blossom by high noon. This species of cacti relies on its size, brightness, and strong fragrance to attract the many desert insects, seducing them into a "One Night Stand."
