ROFL.... great motion capture John! How in the world you managed to catch all four hooves off the ground I'll never know!!?? Was this just luck? Or a really fast lens... or both? And don't hate me... but would it be wrong to want to add just a touch of contrast to this lighting...? Or are you a "leave it as is" kinda guy? Just wondering though... I'm usually loath to try too much and just lately started playing in post editing more... great photo! #6366067

I really had a good time on this job. I got a couple of shots with all four hoofs off the ground, but I did take a lot of shots. I think that taking an image in many different ways is a very important part of what a photographer does. Another thing we all have to learn to do is edit. Take a hundred photos, then find the right one. I did flip this shot horizontally in post. I probably added a little contrast, I often do. The problem is I am comparing the shot to what I saw, not what might be best. So I am often too conservative in the way I manipulate an image. The lens was f2.8 and I was probably shooting at around ISO 100. The shutter speed was not that fast, maybe 125? You’ll notice that I am panning with the horse. This throws the background out of focus.
Thanks, John Siskin
