land ahoy

Description

Seen arriving at the mouth of the Columbia river gorge, is the Lady Washington; a 1989 reproduction of a 90 ton trading vessel built in Massachussets. Sails are folded as she floats downstream, revealing the tall masts and intricate rope work. This vessell has starred in several Hollywood productions, famously as the HMS Interceptor in Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl.

Beautiful detail, all the way! #981583

Thanks Peggy. I attribute the good detail/clarity mostly to the fine optics made by Nikon. This was taken with their 70-200VR -- a legendary lens (worth every penny of its significant price tag) #6325824
