Neuschwanstein Castle in between thunderstorms...I was drenched shortly before and shortly after getting this shot.

Very cool framing, Douglas! #203966Jane Summa January 10, 2005
Nice image, Douglas! I, too, like the framing around the church. #1026376Jordan Steele January 10, 2005
Interestingly enough I have almost the exact same picture that I took from probably the exact same spot on that road that leads to the castle. I took mine last summer with my old Kodak digicam. It's really neat how the branches frame it. When I first walked by I thought 'wow...it's almost as if they planted these trees for photographers.' #1026466Douglas N. Jameson January 11, 2005
Thanks Jordan, Jane, and Noel for your comments!Jordan, I had actually come down the path to take a picture of the castle opposite Neuschwanstein and the lakes that were glowing ethereally in the light between storms, but had to wait for a crowd to move. As I was waiting, I just happened to turn and see these trees framing the castle. I love those moments! #1027096

It is a beautiful place. I looked through my old photos, and it turns out that I took mine from a slightly different angle, with different trees framing it, but it's still very similar: #1027412Douglas N. Jameson January 11, 2005
