Skillful handling of the delicate light and the exposure. I also like the layered composition. #6296143

Thank you Stephen, but what do you mean by "layered composition"? #6296389

August 10, 2008

Ok, the layers are simply planes, visible or transparent. First there's the plane in which the columns are located, which overlap the plane of the far windowwall, which overlaps the exterior wall. To the left, the French door plane overlaps the plane of the garden and tree line. To finish off, there are multi-directional planes of the ceilings. #6296424

I understand. I wish I could say that that was what I was going for but I can't. I was just trying to show the architecture of the rooms - a portfolio piece for the builder to show prospective clients. #6296498

Wow, very professional looking! Your lighting was wonderful for this, was this hard to compose for since there are so many great things you could have featured here? Outstanding work! #6296849

That's fine Matthew...these things happen at the subliminal level anyhow.

Good luck with the builder. I happen to be an architect and have seen probably thousands and thousands of photos of interiors, and this one really appealed to me and is quite professional looking. Keep up the good work. #6296881

Cristine, it was hard to compose. I wanted to include as much as I could and at the same I wanted to keep it as non-distracting as possible.

Stephen, I'm also an architect, well architect intern. The firm I work for did the design for this house (I did the structural design). This was my first attempt at photographing any of our projects and I'm pretty pumped by the results. Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot coming from an architect! #6298683

As you should be pumped! I was an intern in the early 80's and passed "The Exam" in 1985. Keep going on your path. You have a good eye and sense of design.
