I like your perspective Denny, showing the game action with the player in the penalty box watching. You did well on the exposure, showing detail in both the light and dark areas of your photo. The only thing I would suggest IF you do any editing (some people don't like editing) is to pull some of the yellow and magenta out of the photo and then lighten up the levels a bit. What, if any, photo editing software do you use? BTW, hockey is my favorite sport, they are the ultimate athletes IMO! I would like my son to do it someday, but then the Mom in me says he'll get hurt! LOL #17807

Shelley,
Thanks for the compliments as well as the suggestions. I really do appreciate them. My thought was also that this image needed 'something' more, just couldn't put my finger (or mouse) on it. I'll try your suggestions, and see if that improves it - I'm sure it will. I use PhotoShop 7.0, almost exclusively for editing. And yes, I do a lot of editing, shooting almost exclusively digital. I consider myself somewhat less than an intermediate PS user, although love to learn, and am continuing to learn through incredible websites like this one, www.digitalphotocontest.com, and photosig.com. I've just looked through your portfolio here, and love your work - very much!! My daughter's a fastpitch softball pitcher - this shot was taken at a nephew's game. (They won, by the way, 9-6!) #38235
