Titles are always important to me. Even when I expect an image to speak for itself, I don’t neglect the chance to say something more.
We are taught early in our lives that our threes are the lungs of our planet, and when I saw this three I tried to find an angle to make it resemble a lung and I knew that I needed to rotate the print 180 degrees. Unfortunately the shape doesn’t look like a lung, but instead I noticed a similar shape to a heart and its coronaries.
It is not a perfect heart; therefore the title will send the viewer back to the image to figure out where the heart is. Some might even think that by cloning, drawing or distorting the file it may look more like a heart, but nowadays the viewers expect that, and they look at an image searching for a clue of a digital manipulation.
So all I did was turning the print upside down. This print is from a 6x4.5 TriX neg.
