The Famous Longwood Plantation Home In Natchez, MS
Uploaded: July 11, 2008
Personally I think this is the most visited home in Natchez. It has such an interesting story behind it. It never was completed, but was lived in. Do a search for Longwood and you should find the interesting story about a southerner who sided with the north and lost everything. Bill

what a beautiful building, can you take some images from inside and show us non traveling people? I would love that, thank you for sharing this with us! #6168096Reynaldo D. Reyes July 11, 2008
Great capture Bill, although unfinished, apparently there were features that were ahead of the time, the exterior double walls were 27 inches thick with a 5-inch air space to leave room for sliding glass windows to provide maximum ventilation. Running water was to have been brought into the house via pipes connected to the dome on the roof, in which rainwater could be stored...a "green building" in today's standards. Great find and beautful!Patrick Rouzes July 11, 2008
