Landscape Demolition

Uploaded: December 28, 2002

Description

It's kind of a catch-22 - logging makes the landscape look ugly, but it's the logging roads that have taken me into some beautiful country I wouldn't get to see (and photograph!) otherwise.

How true, Cathy. We have to log, but how we do it and where, makes all the difference. I like the way this shows the wilderness in the background and the fallen timbers from logging in the foreground. No easy answers here. We can only hope our children's, children's children will still have forests to photograph. #16885

Thank you Lem and Jeannie, for commenting on my photo! Thanks, Jeannie, for your special delivery!

Lem: I wouldn't mind seeing more selective logging practised here, but they say it's too expensive. It's been getting more noticeably windy here with all the clearcuts.
