Congrats on the EP Destiny, This is a wonderful capture. This is a great example of why I am unqualified to be commmenting on others photos... I would have been torn with this shot cause the horizon isn't level... but you captured the subject so well... sometimes I wonder.. no alot of the time I wonder if I have a clue what I am doing... thanks for the smile Destiny... another great shot!

Oh Thank You Sherry! It was pretty interesting capturing this shot, I was rolling back and fourth on the sand, standing, kneeling, you name it I was doing it! All while my son was just amazing with the surroundings. I am glad that I was able to bring a smile your way. #6128417

EP! Whoo hoo girl! What a great image, your DOF let's us take in the amazing surroundings the way your son did...
the key to having something like a crooked horizon work is to exaggerate it, it adds something extra to the perspective, which you did really well Destiny! A subtle lean would have just looked poorly, but this is great! Bravo! #6129080

LOL Destiny... from the thumb... I thought his hood was a backsack, and thought ..."this lil fellow is going on a journey" well ... I guess he is, it's called life. Beautifully done, and congratz on the EP ~~S~~ #6134228

What a cool shot and special first day at the beach! WELL DONE DESTINY!

I appreciate Christine's explanation of why this worked, too. I knew it worked because I instantly liked it but like Sherry wasn't sure how because of the horizon... Exaggeration!!! COOL!!!

I took one in the Rockies last week that was similar and really liked it at first but then I picked it apart until my confidence was shot and gave in and leveled it. I am glad I kept the original. Maybe I'll post it and see what you guys think. It was taken at the Rivers edge near where we camped.

Thanks for the inspiration! -Laura #6134854

thanks you all for the very kind words! starting as new "free" member was an awesome experience to have EP's in the first photos I have entered, let alone uploaded. I greatly appreciate the advice I have been given in this very short time. Still debating on the cost of the new gallery :( #6134982
