Red Headed Woodpecker
Uploaded: May 20, 2008
Ive not seen one of these for years up in Northwest Wisconsin. Habitat destruction has vastly reduced their numbers. So I was very happy to see this bird and happier yet to get a shot....

Brilliant capture. Just perfection, in my view. I have only seen ONE of these in my life--in Princeton NJ about 15 years ago. What a sight!Karen Harper May 21, 2008
