Description

This is another older photo of my daughter Mattie and her great grandfather (my husbands grandfather) almost two years ago. He always "bops" the babies noses when they are little and here she is getting him!!

Yesterday, Gramps took his final journey home to be with the Lord. While he was not my "real" grandfather he always treated me as one of his own, and I came to love him deeply. He was a man who loved his family and loved his God. The example he set by the life he lived will now live on in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. We are all grieving our loss but at the same time we are rejoicing in the knowledge that he is resting with our Saviour.

My sister-in-law, Debbra Bailey, has more photos of Gramps on her BP site. I talked with her this morning and we were commenting on how thoughtful everyone is on BP because of the comments of support she has already recieved! Thank you!

Phil and I were VERY sorry to hear of Gramps' passing, Jeanine, and we send you all our sincerest sympathies... He sounds as though he was a VERY loving family man AND a God-fearing one, too...

Phil, having been interested in motor racing for MANY years, was very interested when Deb mentioned about Gramps' Nascar racing history, too, so we Googled it and read his story!! :o)

This image must be a really beautiful AND emotive one for you at this time, Jeanine...and I agree with you, "going back through old photos...IS like finding little treasures!!" :o) I have been doing that recently myself...having only just lost my nearly 80 year-old dear Dad on the 1st of April this year... :o(

Isn't it WONDERFUL, though, to have a faith and hope beyond death? My Dad was a lovely, Christian gentleman, too, and we look forward to seeing him...and my dear Mum (who predeceased him by 2½ years)...again at the resurrection, at Jesus' Second Coming!! :o) #5964595
