Gentle Eye

Uploaded: October 05, 2001

This is "Nic" one of my many horses. He love to bask in the sun and sleep while the others play. This makes him perfect for experimenting with close ups. Opinions?

I grew up riding horses and we had many of our own horses. I can't tell you how many countless hours I spent looking into the eyes of my horses and getting to know them. Each horse really does have their own personality. For many years I had better friends that were horses than I did people! Thanks for sharing your photo. It has brought back many wonderful memories. Keep shooting them!

Thank you. I have the same experiances you do! And there is so much expression and meaning to a horses eyes and head held locations. Body movement is everything. I really like this picture. I see a great gentleness about this animal in it. =0) And since I do have too many horses and a long winter coming, I think that I should be doing quite a few horse/snow/storm experiments. Am actually looking forward to it! At least until the first blizzard!

Where do you live? I'm in Florida so there will be no snow here. :(

ND. Funny, during the summers it's up to 105 above, in the winter down to 80 below. Well, I guess I should have the best of each end of the scale for experementing!

Nic looks very easy going. I had a Morgan horse that was my best friend when I was young and she would go any place I wanted her to go. The only bad thing she did was,One day my Mom (God rest her soul)sent me out to get black berries for a pie or two. I set the 10 quart bucket by my Best friend Dolly and started to pick berries in a small pan and then come and dump them into the 10 Q bucket. Guess what,Dolly waited until the big one was almost full and ate everyone while I was picking my last pan full I thought. I laugh about it 60 years later. Thanks for Mamory.Bob. P. S. I like the hair over the eye. #1958
