Wind Created Snowball
Uploaded: December 04, 2002
A snowstorm made these unusual wind-created snowballs in Goddard Park, Warwick, RI. About 80 feet away, a cross-country skier left a long, low ridge of snow. The wind blew off small chunks of snow and kept them rolling in erratic paths producing these extremely light and fragile, but well-formed, snowballs.
