Description

Shot with Canon EOS Lite. 200 Fugi film and a yellow filter. I thought the yellow was interesting. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Michelle, this is beautifully shot. It could use a bit more light in the center of the flower, but the dark center does not distract from the overall appeal. I love the soft quality of this. Jeanette #1010

Thank you very much. This shot has just struck a special place in me. I agree about the dark center as well. I have put together a colloage of this and a shot I have of a field of sunflowers in bloom and have been asked to auction it at an auction for raising funds for the Sept 11 victems and their familes. I thought that perhaps maybe it had something a little special about it. Thank you for your comments. =0) It is appreciated!!! #1483

Michelle, I like this one, and am a lover of flower shots. The back lighting is good and the cropping is not bad, however, because a majority of the photo is the center of the flower, which is so dark, it is a little distracting. However, it's still good shot. Try, in the future, when backlighting something like this, use a reflector - gold would have been nice. Use the natural sun light to reflect a little light on the flower, or even a small fill flash, so that some of the center detail will be highlighted.

Good luck with the auction.

Thank you! I knew that the middle would be a distraction, just not how much. We'd just pulled over along a country road and I ran out with a filter and my gear and took a few quick snap shots. I have been interested in getting a reflector of some sort to experiment with, but I don't think I would have thought to use it here! Thank you! #1507
