Waves on a Red Shore

Uploaded: March 29, 2008

Description

These thundering bodies
In the ocean
Seem to say a million things

The way they crash
And then retreat
As if they fear the sand’s rough sting

Such like the church bell
Back and forth
They move with every ebb and flow

Currents rule out
Inhibition
Until these waves submission show

Bringing treasures
To the seashore
Shells and plants and precious stones

Eager always
Wishing to take
Back what they see as their own

Hurry, quick
To claim your treasure
The greedy waves don’t give a care

Slaves of seasons
Night and day
Nothing’s free and nothing’s fair

Still the hardy
Waves keep crashing
Daring not to rearrange

Serving always
To remind us
God, like they, will never change

This was originally a poem I wrote for my British Lit class, but I thought that it went well with this picture.

Not only is this a beautiful shot, this is a beautiful poem. My daughter also write them as does my son. I will have them read it as well. What a wonderful feeling image with a bonus!!! #892586

Thank you so much Dawn! I don't write as much as I take pictures, but I do like to from time to time. I usually write poems for holidays or my parent's birthdays when I'm not writing them for school! lol. Thanks for taking the time to read it. #5740443
