Well, after 9 weeks of waiting, my new 18-200mmVR lens is here. No sooner than I took it out of the box did miracles begin. I was walking alongside a little farm in Doral (a city in Miami) just before sunset in search of a subject. I soon found a little tree that looked interesting and began shooting when literally out of the clear blue sky comes this Northern Mockingbird (thanks Kathy) right into my frame. He gave me several poses and vanished. I used Apple's iPhoto for the usual tweaks. Enjoy!

That sunset light is wonderful! Making everything glow, and the bird looks as if he's soaking it in... And I have lens envy, lol!!!!! #5716429Gail R. Schuett March 30, 2008

This is just beautiful Michael, quite different than the beach shots (not that there is a single thing wrong with beach shots!!). Your new lens paid for itself with this one shot! #5719938Sherry McClead March 31, 2008

This is a wonderful picture, Michael! I love everything about it. It has an amazing, warm light, perfect composition, outstanding clarity. Should have been an EP on this one, and more to come later. #5777297Michael S. Lazarus April 19, 2008
