Finalist
This poor guy has been sitting in the refectory at Mont Saint-Michel in France since June when I took this shot--or since July when I first entered it, depending on how you calculate. This is his third and final re-edit and re-submission--would someone please give him something to eat?
For this version, I have cropped a bit from the top and left side as I thought the image felt cut in half compositionally. I also deepened the color a bit and added a reddish-brown wash to the floor.
I have always thought this capture was more about his solitude within the space than about him (People) or the place (Travel and Place) itself; I am, accordingly, entering this in Elements of Design. If you think this is really a mistake, please let me know.

I think it works well in EOD Nikki. I love the interior of this building and I can sense the quietness of this place. He seems so alone in this big place, but he seems oblivious to the fact.
