This just in....... A turquoise ocean wave has just broke ashore in a spiraling dance with light and sand... A new study suggests that experiencing events like this repeatedly may have a calming effect on your nerves....
This image from Miami's South Beach is brought to you by a passionate local photographer of questionable intelligence (expensive digital SLR a few inches away from churning saltwater waves) for your enjoyment. Please send contributions to Joe's Camera Repair..............

A great picture, and a funny story - I hope! Thinking of the camera, is it doing okay? Our family will have vacation on the beach this summer, so I need to learn how to take best care of the camera there. #5523140Yulianto Soeroso February 21, 2008 0

I'm in awe of this one Michael! Not only is the photo exceptional in clarity and color, but the title and description are perfect! Your work is very refreshing to view! Thank you for sharing your view of the world with us! You have an amazing drive and will go beyond to get "that" shot! Bravo! #5524233Brian Smyer February 21, 2008 0

Great image Michael. And lol. Be careful out there.Jayme S. Hall February 21, 2008 0
Michael, I found my way here :) You may regret me wandering over! LOL I really like this one. Your subject is really eye catching. The light play on the waves creates a lot of depth. So much so, I keep wanting to see this tiny little surf boarder riding the pipeline of the circular wave, (My imagination got a way with me for a second) Anyway, the composition is nicely placed within the frame. I love your stop action capture of the water spray. Really, really nicely captured! #5525268Marvil J. LaCroix February 21, 2008 0
I love the color and composition, too.Marvin A. Rivera February 21, 2008 0

Hello to all who have given some of your precious time to respond here. The successful reception this image has received has really been overwhelming. I have not even been here a month yet and just to look over the list of fellow photographers who have responded here (and on many of my other images as well) is such a joy for me, it's hard to express it. Thank you so much. I really feel like I've found a home here. Not only for my photographic pursuits but as a place to interact with the wonderful individuals here who are as colorful and diverse as the images they create. I look forward to participating in this wonderful exchange. #5537364Melissa A. McDonald February 25, 2008 0

The D40 man...love this shot. You can hear it crash, smell the fresh sea air, oh, and there just goes a seagull... Really a great shot, Michael. I'm heading to the big island of Hawaii and plan on putting my little d40 into overdrive.... #5583513
