HARSHNESS

Uploaded: January 28, 2008

Description

Canon EOS 30D – Canon EF 24-105 – Canon 580EX Speed-lit – Canon remote 80N3
Aperture: 8.0 – Shutter speed: bulb (12 sec) – ISO: 200

The Elements: an empty egg, a spanner, black cloth as a background and white, big sheets as reflectors.

The photo is taken in a dark room. The source of light is the speed-lite which is used manually. I flash several time ( approximately 24 times ) in 3 different directions while the camera shutter is opened.

I manipulate the photo in Photoshop CS2 by using Unsharp Mask Filter, Dodge and Burn tools.

The theme is HARSHNESS of spanner on the THINNESS of egg shell.

Exif: F Number: 8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 12/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 200, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 90.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 30D

Very cool shot, Majed. Thanks for sharing how you were able to achieve this. I think there's a little blurred bit where the shell has fallen off the egg, but that's minor because this is a fantastic and creative shot. Great job. #5409211
