European Eagle Owl

Uploaded: January 24, 2008

Description

A captive owl taken at the British Wildlife Centre in the UK.

Once numerous in the UK they became extinct due to mans persecution and habitat loss. Recently a few have returned to the north of England and their numbers are on the increase. This has caused a debate on whether they should be allowed to remain. I personally think the English countryside is enhanced by their existence.

Canon 20D & 100-400L IS, 1/320th @ f/6.3, ISO 200.
