Trash? Treasure?
Uploaded: January 08, 2008
Washed up along the shoreline in British Columbia, I often wonder what ever happened to the little girl who once treasured this little pink smiling face with blue eyes?

I love photo's like this that pull on the heart strings. When my youngest lost his favorite "friend" for awhile I think it was daddy and mommy that were the most upset! LOL #5311883Teri Soares January 09, 2008
Great find and a sharp I that caught it! Your editing skills really show and I love the colorfulness of the scene.Teri #5312557

Poignant! I don't know nor care whether you positioned the doll. Having it against that diagonal log makes a heap into a fine composition. Nice work, A J.A. J. Perry January 10, 2008
Just like a Professor, always inquisitive!Frankly Steve, I'm glad you asked that question because it gives me an opportunity to give credit where it's rightly due...to my son, David, who took the original shot in Vancouver a few weeks ago. I never did ask him about the position of the doll since I was more interested in coaching him on his editing skills.
He's a far better documentary videographer than he is a still photographer so I couldn't resist showing him a before and after of what I thought was his best capture.....And, since I can't shoot decent video either, we pretty much just both compliment each other in that unique way. Below, is an example of his original image.
Vickie...."heart strings" is precisely the target I shoot for when I'm trying to caption or explain an image...doesn't have to be true, just poetic.
Teri....thank you for your comment regarding my editing skills....For me, THAT is the motivating force that even keeps me interested in photography.
