They are American Avocets thanks to Sarah for identifing them.
They are faster than a dove and can turn on a dime at full speed.
A challenge to capture them for sure.

Try the American Avocet. Their necks are white/grey in winter and cinnamon in the summer.Neat picture. Love their upturned bills. They look so dignified as they fly by in this great action shot.
Glad you were able to get such a good shot of these fast fliers. They are simply beautiful.

Outstanding!!! The details are so, sooooooooooooooo good! Any nature magazine would be blessed with all your wildlife images. If you look under the down pointed wings its almost as though you can see a gators eyes just under the water. I am probably just having fun.
