Palouse Barn

Uploaded: December 27, 2007

Description

South East Washington State is known as the Palouse region. One of the largest wheat growing and the largest lentil growing area in the United States. I had been searching some time for a reasonable composition with the brilliant yellow rapeseed fields. This one jumped out one spring day. Unfortunately, this barn was knocked down for some reason. No longer there. Shot with a Canon A-1, Kodak Ektar 25 film, camera settings unrecorded. Slik tripod. Scanned with Heildeberg Tango scanner.

WOW!!! I absolutely LOVE this!! This is such an original point of view for a barn and it's surrounding scenery! There is so much to see for the viewer: of course the focal point being the barn but then my eye wanders down to the rusty metal, and up through the fields all the way to the rainy sky! Just a fantastic capture! CONGRATS on your POTD, James!! #5728814
