Beautiful photograph!!Laurie M. Elmer November 03, 2004
Thank you ALL for your kind comments. I was quite surprised and honored when I opened my e-mail this morning!Robert Burns-I'm trying to find the disk with the RAW file on it so I can see the exact settings. I shot this several months ago and don't remember the specifics. I do know I used a Tamron 70-300 lens fairly wide open. I just don't recall the exact aperture.
Robert O. Brown- Thanks for the "crown" (just for a day?) #887980

Congrats! Your images are amazing.Penny Steiner November 03, 2004
You deserve that crown today, Laurie!!! I was also wondering what lens you used. It is such an amazing shot. Did you use center focus? P. #888087Laurie M. Elmer November 03, 2004
Kris, Penny and Llewellyn, thanks for you comments,Penny-This was focused manually. The relatively cheap lens on my D70 doesn't autofocus too well (sluggish). I've gotten so used to manual focus, I rarely use autofocus anymore. I had the camera on my Tripod and was panning and focusing as they fed along the shore. Luckily, when they took flight, they remained in the same focal plane. I have MANY out of focus versions!
Llewellyn-Go to Sanibel this weekend!!! The birds should be arriving! #888157
