This was an evening shot at Ninepipe Refuge in the Mission Valley of Montana. A film scan worked in PS.

Nice work! I think you'll be pleased with the results if you start using GND filters for shots with a broad range of light - like this one. You will find that you will not lose details in your shadow areas and you won't need to do so much editing in PS.
