I think I like this one the best, Peggy! It's a wee bit sharper than the other. :) #721529

Thank you so much for commenting Jennifer, Char, Jim, Deborah and Amanda! Amanda, it has been driving me nuts lately why my photos can be tact sharp and then they look blurry here on BP. I figured it is because I have to resize them so small and then they are blown up again here and they get distorted. BUT many other people don't seem to have the same problem...I don't know what I am doing wrong. This one however I put a sharpening filter on it before I uploaded it and it did seem to help a bit. Any suggestions would be REALLY appriciated! #721556

haha! Believe me, if I knew how to solve that problem I would be doing it myself!
Do you use the TIFF format? I've heard it's the most compatible with BP. Also, when you go to resize AFTER you've done any work on the original, make the smallest side 500 pixels right off the bat so they're the right size for BP and won't stretch any. Those are the only tips I can offer, as they're the only ones that have been given to me. :)
At any rate, keep up the good work! Your portraits are fantastic! #721611

Thanks Amanda! I usually save them as JPEG, but I will give Tiff a try and see if that turns out any clearer. I think of Williams Lotus photo and the first place winner of the people catagory a couple of months ago with the women and the hair coming out of the water...those did not seem to have one ounc of blur on them. Maybe I will E-mail them and see if they are doing anything differently. #721947

Thank you so much Bill, I couldn't belive how photogenic Amy was. We took well over 100 photos of her and only one was a throw a way. The rest were all great!
Amanda, Do you have AOL? I just read some suggestions on the contest hints area. Apparently AOL automatically compresses images. I have 9.0 and this is what I just did. Go to settings>internet options > AOL browser> then check the box that says do not compress graphics. I will send the same photo in the morning and see if it helps. I will also try to send 72 dpi again, I have found in the past that makes it worse though. #722146

I don't have AOL, so I don't know if my computer is doing the same thing? Thanks for you help though! #722296
