Famine to Feast
Uploaded: October 20, 2007
aperture,f 11; shutter,25seconds; iso,100.
The sculptures in the foreground are in memory of the Irish famine victims of the 1840s. Very different story today. Dublin, Ireland.
Trying out my night time shooting!

Like the color, shadowing, stillness of the river, and overall effect of the photo. Well done! #765958

Beautiful capture,Patricia.Such a sad time in history.I think if there is anything good that can be said of the about the famime,it help to bring that wonderful Irish culture to a America.Outstanding my friend!!!!! #4957797Mary K. Robison October 21, 2007 0
John's right, Patricia ~ you should definitely explore shooting more of Dublin's night sights, because your exposure here is as good as your composition. Fine reflections, too.Such a sad, touching memorial ~ gave me the same feeling as the first time I saw Van Gogh's "The Potato Eaters". Different country - same gaunt features and look of desperation. We are so fortunate to live as well as we do! #4957830
