Wow Mario. I am a new D80 owner (2 months) and I love photographing wildlife. How did you get this photo? I imagine that at the time of day when you have such great color in the sky, the light conditions would be changing quickly, making the shot challenging. Were you shooting manually? Manual focus? Maybe aperture priority was your mode of choice. Do you share your secrets on how to get such a great photo? I love how the unique bill of this Black Skimmer appears to be like a heavy pair of scissors cutting the, as you put it, 'silky water'. Its great!
