Thank you very much for your kind words Janet. Yes, it is a thistle - there are loads of them around here - in fact, I had a real nightmare trying to get rid of them from my garden - they have long roots that can break off quite easily, and if you leave just a little bit of the root - up pops another thistle !! #4890829

I've had the same problem with some other flowers (trumpet vine). Isn't it funny how when you want them to thrive, they don't, and when you don't, you can't get rid of them? :-) #4890840
