Sudoku Contemplation

Description

Passing the time, in the middle of a three hour flight. This one was taken while in flight at Angels 39,000, somewhere over the south central US.

Shutter speed was set at 1.6 second exposure time. It took a series of about a dozen attempts to achieve the photo that I wanted.

I was pleased with how the pencil shadow was crisp yet the #2 was visible through the pencil.

Robert,
This is a very interesting shot. How on earth did you acheive the # 2 on the pencil to be translucent? I'm not sure I care for the black box in the corner above the glass...maybe cloneing that out might help, only a thought. Other wise this shot makes me think WOW! #805533

Robert- I have to agree with Sue in my questioning of how did you do this? I don't really mind the black box, I guess because I expect it to be there :) Very, very creative :) #5192268

Sue,

Not being that overly familiar with Photoshop, I was reluctant to try and tweak details of the image beyond what came out of the camera. It was a product of experimenting with the exposure time. Not like I was going to take a walk on the wing anytime soon.

Now that you have pointed it out I do see how the black box could be improved (cloned) out of the frame. At the time I was happy with the blurred pencil effect as it hovered above the page.

Thank you both for taking the time to leave a comment!
