This is awesome, great shot. If I may ask, how did you get the drops to 'fall' all at the same time?
brilliant!!!!! #627480

Hi Fawn ~
thanks for responding, here's the explanation:

First I set up four eye droppers, and had open clothes-pins at the top where you squeeze the eye droppers. I then set up an air pump, which when triggered released a lever which let the clothes pins close over the eydropper which in turn dropped the water. The air pump was triggered by the shutter release. When the droplets broke the photogate beam, a delayed flash was set off to capture the droplets at exactly the same time. All of this was done in pitch black. Just kidding, I used a little program called Photoshop, and stitched four different pictures together. Sorry if that was a bit dissapointing, but in my opinion the end result is what mostly counts. Here's another one done in the same way. #627945

Great capture ... excellent tutorial!

Know where I can sell a slightly used electro-pneumatic actuator and a PLC?

Nicely done! #628630

Well, I will say this, you make a great story teller as well as an awesome Photographer. Great work. I love the picture. #628783

It's always nice getting positive feedback and I thank all of you. Sorry, Paul I don't even know what a PLC is and as for the electro-pneumatic actuator, I say you keep it. Maybe you'll need it one day when your in some obscure situation that requires an actuator. I did notice that you use a D70 which is something you definately don't need to sell. #628938
