Monet's Bokeh
Uploaded: July 31, 2007
EFP: Bokeh (from the Japanese boke ぼけ, "blur") is a photographic term referring to the appearance of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens. Different lens bokeh produces different aesthetic qualities in out-of-focus backgrounds, which are often used to reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject.

Amy, your DOF is amazing! Monet would be proud with all those soft purples in the background. Beautifully done! #709368Amy Weiland August 08, 2007
Thanks so much, Michelle. We have a riverbank nearby that offers a nice backdrop of color in the summer. Many of my butterfly shots are from this location. #4619148Barbara Waldoch August 09, 2007
Beautiful composition and I love the background, Amy! #4626517Debbie E. Payne October 13, 2007
You have a great gallery, Amy! I love your butterfly photos. I am jealous!...No, not really. I think butterflies are very difficult to get and admire people who can get them! I don't seem to have any at home and when I go the the Butterfly Pavillion it is either too humid and and get too hot or there is too many little kids running around and having fun chasing them - or both. Plus we can't take tripods into the Pavillion. HOwever I did get away with a monopod the last time I went and fared better. #4918893Deb Koskovich October 13, 2007
