Ring-necked Duck!

Uploaded: July 18, 2007

Description

This duck is called "ring-necked" because of the brown band around its neck. Normally the ring is hard to pick out, but this duck was proudly carrying its head up high to give me a good view! I took this picture through some tall grass, accounting for the slight greenish blur across the front of the duck.
