HOW CUTE!!!!! I too am having the .tiff vs .jpg dilemna. .tiff's take up way too much room on my puter and I don't see much of a difference. I am doing high end .jpg which is sort of in the middle, I guess. #586485

First, this is a WONDERFUL scene you've set up here; I love kitty grabbing the duckie and the daisies!

Now, the "experts" will tell you that you must use "TIF" or "RAW"(which is even bigger, I think) to get a good print. Well, I guess that may be true if you're going for a 16 x 20 or larger. I agree with you on computer space--and even more with cards. I use an 8 MP camera and that means about 20 pictures on a 512 card (OUCH!) Not being someone who can afford 10 or 20 512 cards I've experimented and found that I can use the highest JPG Fine level, my Canon i950 photo printer, good quality paper and I'm getting perfectly professional looking 8 x 10 prints with the "fine" level. When I save my photos to disk though, I do save them as ".tif" files so they don't lose quality when I copy and edit them. That will take up a lot more space on a CD as well, but CD's are a lot less expensive than memory cards! Perhaps if you're doing weddings or portraits or something for hire the .tif mode might be wise but for general shooting I don't see a need for it myself. #591286

Hey, thanks! I am gearing up to do some work soon and was really wondering what to use...there is so much on the net, infact too much, thank you for making it easy to understand! As far as the cat grabbing the duck, he did that himself, I was trying to shoot something with no kitty in it, he decided to come on over and have himself a looksie! #591907
