The Chair, The Curtain and the white shirt and the red coat make an excellent picture. The light source is nice and soft and lovely to behold. However, while I am only a hobby photographer I would encourage the photographer to eliminate the background by using a plain wall or a backdrop to eliminate the distraction. In summary a lovely still life picture. #8702

Alan, Thank you for your comments. I agree, that if I were shooting this still life in a studio, I would have chosen a plainer background. However, this was photographed in a historical house. The draperies, wallpaper, woodwork color, etc. are exact reproductions of what was in this house in the 18th century. The image is very close to being "historically correct", if not exactly compositionally correct. Thanks again.
