Collecting Rain

Uploaded: September 01, 2002

Description

Taken after a summer storm, I caught this leaf as it dried in the sun and wind (I admit to having to spray the leaves at least once before actually getting the shot since the sun came out soon after the storm and dried up all the rain). Lighting is natural, no flash, hand-held, automatic settings, manual focus, no special lenses/filters, unedited except for the border and taken with a Nikon F65.

I like the composition and tonality of this shot. Some would say that the white patches of light are distracting, but I think they add up to the mood of the photo. #9655

By the way, your choice of DOF is spot on! #15549

Thanks Robert!
I'm still figuring things out with my fairly new camera and learning all the workings of it so it's good to hear I'm doing at least some things right! This was one of the ones that actually turned out like I had planned...I'm glad someone else seems to see it as I do.

Thanks again,
Loralee #15586
