Description

I discovered this little lady enjoying an aphid breakfast while waiting for the school bus with my daughter one morning. 1/160 per sec., F:8, handheld, color manipulated in PhotoShop. The ladybug and aphid blended much too well with the background....this allowed me to isolate the ladybug and aphid.

Very attractive Delores!! You sure are becoming a digital art specialist, aren't you?... I really love the contrast in this... You have done a nice job isolating the foreground with the background. Good luck with this one! #12707

Thank you Donna! Well, I wish I was a digital art specialist!! I just learned layers last month when I did the cookbook page. I'm not as advanced as I want to be but I'd rather spend more time on photography...and less time with PS. This initial image was actually good enough to post without desaturating the background, but if it improves it, why not? Thanks again for highlighting my work, girlfriend! The end of the month is getting near. I can't wait to see who the winners are! No doubt you'll be on the winner's list again! #12735

Donna R. Moratelli August 28, 2002

HI again girlfriend, One question: How do you like layers?.. I havn't even attempted it yet. No doubt that you'll be on the winners list again!! My first guess would be the one with your husband at the top of the stairs, then when time began, then the cookbook etc,etc,etc...They are all great!! #12736

Donna...I love layers! I don't know how to do everything with layers...like layering on top of each other but I love being able to take a layer and delete if I don't like it without ruining my base image. I love that alot! Thank you for feeling I have some in the pool that are winners. I appreciate the high praise immensely. Looking forward to seeing yours.

Carol....your kind words are very meaningful to me. My work is a special part of me...when it gets approval it makes me very happy. Thanks so much for your kindness once again. Good luck to you in the contest too!
