Brise Soleil Details

Uploaded: May 23, 2004

Description

Architectural and mechanical details of the Brise Soleil on the new expansion building of the Milwaukee Art Museum. This structure is a giant (110 ton!) movable sunscreen that looks like 2 huge gull wings when extended. The giant screen can be opened or closed in 3 minutes! When closed, the wings fold over the oval roof of the pavilion. When opened, the wingspan extends over 210 feet wide.
