Description

I scanned these so hopefully someone can describe why the flash isn't lighting the whole frame of the photo

Hi Connie:
The most likely reason the flash isn't lighting the whole frame is because your shutter speed was set too fast. There should be a flash sync speed on your camera and that shutter speed (usually between 60 and 125) will be noted in your manual. If you have an old slr, the sync speed is often denoted by a red "x" beside either 60 or 125 on the shutter speed dial. Do not set your shutter speed higher than the flash sync speed or it will cause a dark area in your pictures.

Also, if you are using your camera's pop up flash, do not use a lens hood. It could partially obstruct the flash coverage.

Hope this helps. --- Michelle #8075
