Thanks K and Cathy.I almost gave up getting anything in the rain, but persisted to get this (and others like it.) Not sure how they impacted the outcome but here's what I did: i) Used a smaller aperature to get reasonable DOF - the out of focus water looked too fat; ii) shot with most of the water behind the flowers. iii) put the sprinkler on a platform same height as the flowers & shot when the water was almost vertical; iv) I was shooting directly towards a low evening sun, the sprinkler was at about a 45 degree angle to it and the flowers (otherwise I had gaps between the water coming from separate holes in the sprinkler.)
