Very nice. It would be great and very helpful to everyone if you could give a description of how you got this shot. It looks to me like a very long exposure (e.g. > 30 seconds) at night with moonlight, and/or (less likely) during the day with a very dark nuetral density filter. But I too would really like to know the specifics!

Thanks,
Jim #610297

Ali Hoolash June 22, 2004

Thanks, Jim. It is my pleasure to give you the specs of the shot.
It was taken at dawn just after sunset (no moonlight) and to get that blurry effect on the water, I used an ND filter over the lens + a polariser. The exposure was in the range of 15 - 25 seconds.
The "blue effect" is the result of reciprocity failure in the film, quite an unpredictable effect as it depends on the type of film used. Different films react differently to long exposures.
Hope I was of some help! #610399
